Bryan Heany: [email protected] Brochure Gear List
I do several kinds of sound engineering work:
Live Sound & Streams: PA system equipment rental & engineering (typically as a package deal), along with a live stream service and one camera angle/shot.
Recording: studio or live / on-location multi-tracking, stereo recording, post-production, editing, mixing, & media transfers.
Engineering Assistance: I enjoy working with other engineers in most any capacity, and have high quality equipment for the gig.
Cables and Repair: Soldering, custom wiring, cable repairs, and other minor technical repairs.
CD/DVD Duplication & Printing: Any size order, full-color, full-bleed prints available, with/out jewel cases, etc.
Consultations: Thinking about a PA or recording system, event systems and logistics, or need help troubleshooting your system?
Lessons: Beginning to intermediate level topics in analog and digital audio, studio recording, and live sound.

Recording Credits
Hundreds of student recitals, audition tapes, and competition sessions during my 11 years at Western Sound Studio, Western Michigan University. Mainly classical and jazz soloists and ensembles, including the yearly Downbeat competition sessions. I would conservatively estimate that I have recorded over 500 concerts and edited over 1,200 live recordings. I still record the Keith Hall Summer Drum Intensive student sessions, featuring almost 50 drummers taking a turn at the house kit.
Over 1100 reel to reel, cassette, vinyl, and VHS media digitization pieces, including the Harper C. Maybee library of 1/4″ reels at the WMU School of Music, select VHS tapes from the Zhang Legacy Collections Center at WMU, as well as various media from the Kalamazoo Valley Museum’s local history collection.
Engineer and founder of WIDR-FM’s “The Basement Show“, 2008-2012 (Multitrack recording mixed live to broadcast; At least 150 live band episodes that are problematic to re-broadcast or host, but eventually I hope to have a lot of them up again) -Still- every Monday on 89.1FM in Kalamazoo (WIDRFM.org), just produced by other people now, except of course during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I’ve been an engineer of solo piano concerts for the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival since 2010 and have been recording the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra for their internal archives since 2014.
